INKD & CIROC X VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
What better way to celebrate the highly anticipated Andreas Kronthaler For Vivienne Westwood S/S 2020 show than with an exclusive limited-edition personalised CÎROC bottle, courtesy of CÎROC, Vivienne Westwood and Get It INKD.
Both CÎROC and Vivienne Westwood are iconic names across the globe, famed for going against the norm and consistently modernising style with thinking that goes against the norm. Their collaboration, a unique collectable CÎROC vodka bottle, encompasses just that thanks to Vivienne Westwood's iconic ‘Let It Rock’ graphics inked directly onto the glass bottle.
Their show at Paris Fashion Week was the perfect opportunity to launch this drop. This show, named Rock Me Amadeus, marks the third year since Andreas, Vivienne's partner of 30 years, has been the creative director for the rebranded Andreas Kronthaler For Vivienne Westwood fashion designer. The incredible show in the fashion capital, Paris, did not disappoint with the outlandish designs we have come to expect with a heavy influence on climate change.
The star-studded event was closed by Bella Hadid, whilst stars like Pamela Anderson sat on the first row. When the catwalk finished, Andreas Kronthaler victoriously brought out Vivienne to take a bow. After the excitement of the show was the official Andreas Kronthaler & Vivienne Westwood afterparty to unveil the creation from these powerhouses. Fashion and parties are notorious for going hand in hand, after all.
VIVIENNE WESTWOOD LET IT ROCK
Vivienne Westwood’s iconic Let It Rock is the chosen design for this exciting pairing with CÎROC. As all fans of fashion, music and popular culture know, Vivienne Westwood was a pioneer in the 1970s with her outlandish designs, refusal to conform and close ties with other influential artists and musicians of the era.
Let It Rock is the name of her shop on 403 Kings Road and stands as the symbol of the start of Vivienne Westwood’s astounding career. Shared with then-partner Malcolm Mclaren, the store has gone down in history as being the hub of London’s youth culture.
1950’s rock and roll cool was apparent throughout the store. Think Teddy Boys, rock and roll records, memorabilia and, of course, Vivienne Westwood’s only creations embodying the culture. Find out more about the Let It Rock store from Vivienne’s son, Ben, here.
ANDREAS KRONTHALER FOR VIVIENNE WESTWOOD X CÎROC
Fast forward to 2019, and this logo is reimagined onto one of the coolest alcohol bottles to date. It now adorns limited edition CÎROC bottles chaotically scrawled in what looks like lipstick. Not following the norm is a trait synonymous with both Andreas Kronthaler For Vivienne Westwood and CÎROC, which makes this partnership resonate even more.
This personalised CÎROC bottle also features Vivienne Westwood’s orb which is instantly recognisable to trailblazers and fashion lovers alike as Vivienne Westwood’s mark. Also on the bottle are Andreas Kronthaler and Vivienne Westwood’s name and a love heart.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Andreas Kronthalerr gave insight as to the thought process behind the name of the bottle. He revealed the double meaning with CÎROC, which was calling it Let It Rock so it would cleverly be “ Rock Me Amadeus’ CÎROC, Let It Roc” He also admitted he too is a fan of the vodka, having already tried too much of it. Which comes as no surprise that someone as cool as Andreas would drink such an individual drink.
